The action of this 3D open world action-adventure game takes place in the era of alternate Middle Ages in the land of Gordcyt. The player assumes the role of Quetel, talented young mage just graduated from the Academy, entrusted with a mission to save Gordcyt from a serious and previously unseen threat. Fire Demons, seeking to ruin the Sources of Moon Energy, which sustain life and prosperity of the region.

The protagonist is sent to the epicenter of the conflict – the surroundings of Rubran, where the last untouched Source, well hidden from strangers' eyes, is though to be situated.

The Source feeds upon a powerful artefact – the Sacred Necklace, containing pure Moon Essence. Quetel must find the artefact and deliver it to a safer place before the Demons lay their hands on it.

In order to complete the mission, the player will need to:

✧ fight, shooting spells, various monsters, each having strengths and weaknesses;

✧ explore the map and find hidden objects and passages;

✧ grow power by gaining experience;

✧ collect and trade goods;

✧ complete side quests from Gordcyt’s inhabitants for rewards.

A more detailed overview of the game's narrative, world map, historical timeline, list of key locations and characters, description of game flow and more is presented in the World Design Document.

Mage's Path was created fully by myself with mobile engine Struckd. This engine let me focus more on game design and worldbuilding and spend less time on technical and artistic aspects – as it provides fast map creation tools, a wide choice of built-in assets, behavior and interaction algorithms for characters, automatically integrated UI and sound. Regardless of the limitations of the engine, the game was finished and delivered in a fully playable state.
